Television actor and digital influencer Puja Sharma is all set to make a powerful return to the small screen after a seven-year hiatus, with Star Plus’ ambitious new series Jhanak. Known for her impactful performances and strong screen presence, Puja takes on her most unconventional role yet — Kanka, a fierce tribal woman with grey shades, set against a Naxalite backdrop.
In a departure from her earlier positive lead roles, Kanka is a raw, volatile, and emotionally layered character. The role draws from Puja’s own upbringing in Jharkhand, where she was exposed to the strength and resilience of tribal women — a lived experience that brings added authenticity to her portrayal.

Puja’s television journey began in 2008 with Tujhe Sang Preet Lagai Sajna (Star Plus) and includes prominent roles in some of Indian TV’s most well-known shows such as Saat Phere (Zee TV), Jyoti, Devi and Mahima Shani Devi Ki (NDTV Imagine), Devon Ke Dev Mahadev (Life OK), Naagin and Dil Se Dil Tak (Colors), Mere Angne Mein (Star Plus), and Gangaa (&TV). She has also appeared in popular episodic dramas including CID, Savdhaan India, Fear Files, and Aahat.
In addition to her work in television, Puja has featured in ad campaigns for major brands such as Surf Excel, Sugarfree, Sapat Adulsa Cough Syrup, Zomato, Celkon Phones, Classmate Notebooks, and Paisa Bazaar.
