Mumbai: How happy you are with yourself reflects in the work you do and in your personality. We asked Single Papa and Khaufactress Chaitali Kohli about her perspective on happiness in today’s fast-paced world.
Sharing her thoughts on what real happiness means, she says, “Real happiness, to me, means being peaceful with your own self. In today’s times, with everything we do and all the people we meet, things can sometimes feel very fake, and coping with that can become mentally exhausting. Real happiness lies in the small joys—spending time with your friends, with your family, and with yourself. It’s about slowing down a little and truly being present in those moments.”
Many people chase success believing it will automatically bring happiness. On this, Chaitali says, “Happiness should come first. How happy you are with yourself directly reflects in the work you do and in your personality. I know it can be difficult at times, but if we can express gratitude for even one thing every day, we should know that, in the larger sense, we are already successful in life. Stress and pressure have become a part of modern life, but I do follow certain practices in my life which help me immensely. The most important thing is starting your day with journaling—any kind of journaling works. Practicing gratitude, whether by writing it down or simply waking up and thanking your breath for today, is more than enough. Adding a small five-minute grounding meditation can also help. These two simple habits can bring a lot of clarity to your life. Just 15 minutes for yourself in the morning can help you navigate everything the day brings.”

Apr 3, 2026Chaitali feels happiness can be found both internally and externally.
She adds, “In my opinion, we cannot ignore something we have invested our energy and hard work in. While happiness is deeply internal, seeing it manifest externally is also joyful. It gives you the pleasure of accomplishment. And honestly, if something external makes you happy, then why not embrace it? Find a balance between your internal and external worlds. In today’s fast-paced life, we are often so focused on working hard to achieve everything we want—which is important. But sometimes, pause. Take a cup of coffee, sit with your friends or even with yourself, and give yourself a pat on the back for how far you’ve come. Then move forward to the next thing you want to achieve.”
