Mumbai: Actor and artist Sheena Chohan recently witnessed a deeply meaningful milestone as she addressed over a thousand Indian Army officers, Veterans and their families at a special gathering attended by the Vice Chief of Army Staff. The occasion held both professional honour and personal significance for the actor, given her strong military roots. The event was an internal Army gathering to mark the occasion, with the current Southern Army Commander, Pune, in celebration of his elevation to Vice Chief of Army Staff, Army Headquarters, on April 1st. Officers, veterans, and their families were present to join in the celebrations.
Raised in an Army-influenced environment, Sheena grew up surrounded by values of discipline, service, professionalism and resilience—shaped by her grandfather, a Major, and her maternal uncle, a Lieutenant Colonel. Reflecting on the experience, she said, “It felt like life had come full circle. From growing up surrounded by stories of courage, discipline, and service to the country, to addressing over a thousand officers alongside the Vice Chief of Army Staff—it was incredibly humbling.”
Sheena credits this upbringing for defining her work ethic and approach to her craft. “I’ve carried that discipline with me onto every set I’ve stepped on. For me, punctuality, focus, professionalism and respect for every person’s time isn’t optional—it’s instinct. There’s a certain energy in Army spaces that never leaves you. Being there again grounded me, reminding me of who I am at my core."” she shared.
