Mumbai: Celebrity stylist and costume designer Rick Roy is celebrating a major milestone as the British show Rob & Romesh Vs., which features his on-screen appearance, has been nominated at the BAFTAs. Marking an exciting turn in his career, the project not only placed him on an international platform but also gave him an unexpected acting opportunity.
Expressing his excitement, Rick shares, “I am extremely excited about this nomination, and honestly, it feels quite surreal. How often does one get the opportunity to be part of a project that gets nominated at the BAFTAs? I was already thrilled to be associated with the show, given that it is a major international production and extremely popular in the UK. When we initially shot the show, there was a lot of excitement, but receiving this nomination has taken that feeling to another level. What makes it even more special for me is the amount of screen time I’ve had. While some characters may appear only briefly, I’ve been prominently featured throughout the series, which makes this recognition feel even more rewarding.”
Rick was initially brought on board to style comedians Rob Beckett and Romesh Ranganathan for a Bollywood-themed episode. However, director Graham Proud and producer Bill Brighton saw potential beyond his styling skills and decided to feature him on screen.
