Not only did Isha use the look from the show as her reference, but she also had the opportunity to recreate Dimple Kapadia’s exact look for a special photoshoot. Working alongside the veteran actress herself was an honor for Isha, who considers Dimple as one of the industry’s legends.
In “Saas Bahu Aur Flamingo,” which is set in Rajasthan, Isha portrays the character of Badi Bahu, requiring her to adopt a specific style of dressing. To ensure she captured the essence of her character’s look, Isha turned to Dimple Kapadia’s portrayal in “Rudaali” for inspiration.

After completing the show, Isha felt compelled to recreate Dimple’s look from the film. In preparation, she revisited “Rudaali” for research and found herself in awe of the legendary actress, especially as she had the opportunity to share screen space with her.
Expressing her feelings, Isha said, “The story is based in Rajasthan, and so my character, Badi Bahu, has a particular kind of dressing. To get the look right, my prime source of reference is Dimple ma’am’s look in ‘Rudaali.’ Post the show, I wanted to recreate the exact look that Dimple Ma’am had in the film. I rewatched ‘Rudaali’ for my research, and then I am sharing screen space with the legend herself. It was not just an honor but also overwhelming, and of course, I was equally startled at the same time.”
The series in which Isha is currently starring, “Saas Bahu Aur Flamingo,” is a gripping crime drama that revolves around the Rani Cooperative, a seemingly innocent handicrafts and herbs factory that is, in reality, a cocaine-making facility.
Alongside Isha, the show features a talented ensemble cast including Radhika Madan, Angira Dhar, Deepak Dobriyal, Monica Dogra, and Naseeruddin Shah in prominent roles. Isha’s character, Bijilee, also known as Badi Bahu, plays a significant part in the series. “Saas Bahu Aur Flamingo” is available for streaming on Disney+ Hotstar.
