Mumbai: Monika Mishra has been steadily making her presence felt in South Indian cinema. Born in Persouni, a village in Bihar, she spent her childhood in Delhi and later moved to Mumbai. It was in Mumbai that she began working towards an acting career and looking for opportunities in films.
Her recent work includes The Red Bag, where she features alongside Kabir Duhan Singh, who plays a prominent antagonist. Monika is one of the female actors in the film, which brings together a cast from different backgrounds. The project is among her early appearances in South Indian cinema.
She also appears in the Telugu film O Mata Anukundama!. The film features a familiar line-up of actors, including Suhasini Maniratnam, Karthikeya, Indraja, Vinod Kumar and Srinivas Ananthneni. For Monika, the project is another chance to work in a regional film and be part of a different kind of screen setup.
