Ravee Shares Her Journey, Battles Depression, and Advocates for Mental Health Awareness
In an industry that thrives on competition, actress Ravee Gupta has chosen a different path, one that allows her to move at her own pace and prioritize her well-being. Known for her roles, including her recent appearance in Naagin 5 and her upcoming stage performance in the Hindi Theatre play “5 August 1947,” Ravee believes there’s room for everyone in the entertainment world.
“I have tried to not be a part of the competition,” Ravee asserts. She acknowledges that excessive stress doesn’t bring out the best in her as an actor or as a person. Her philosophy is grounded in the idea that there’s a place for everyone in the sky, a metaphorical representation of individuality and uniqueness. “We need to find our niche and work towards honing our craft to be the best professionals we can be,” she adds.
Ravee’s journey has not been without its challenges, and she has been candid about her struggles with depression. “I have had my struggles with depression in the past and have spoken openly about it,” she reveals. She emphasizes the importance of addressing mental health issues as they are—a disease. Ravee believes that it’s crucial for individuals, especially those in the public eye, to discuss mental health openly to combat the stigma associated with it. She acknowledges that virtually everyone experiences some degree of mental health challenges at some point in life.

Growing up, Ravee had dreams and ambitions, nurtured by her actor father’s influence. “Growing up with an actor father, I always wondered if I could be one too,” she reminisces. However, her inherent shyness as a teenager initially made it challenging to choose acting as a profession. As she matured, she realized that acting was her true calling.
Her parents, particularly her father, played a pivotal role in supporting her aspirations. “My parents, especially my father, were very supportive and encouraging,” she shares. They recognized her potential and enrolled her in an acting workshop to help her overcome her shyness. This proved to be a turning point in her life, propelling her towards her chosen path.
Ravee Gupta’s journey serves as an inspiring example of pursuing one’s dreams, prioritizing mental health, and embracing individuality in an industry often characterized by fierce competition. Her openness about her own struggles with depression contributes to the growing conversation around mental health awareness, breaking down barriers and encouraging others to seek help when needed.
