The festival of Holi is celebrated with great enthusiasm. It symbolizes the arrival of spring and the victory of good over evil. In this people come together to celebrate and enjoy the colors of life. Every state of India has its own uniqueness regarding this festival. In such a situation, a diverse confluence of cultures and traditions is created. Talking about different ways of celebrating the festival, &TV cast revealed the unique traditions of Holi in their respective hometowns. These actors include Ashutosh Kulkarni (Krishna Bihari Vajpayee) of ‘Atal’, Geetanjali Mishra (Rajesh Singh) of ‘Happu Ki Ultan Paltan’ and Shubhangi Atre (Angoori Bhabie) of ‘Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain’, taking place in Maharashtra. Talking about the celebration, Ashutosh Kulkarni, aka Krishna Bihari Vajpayee of &TV’s ‘Atal’ said, “Holi is celebrated with grandeur and enthusiasm in Maharashtra. The tradition of Holika Dahan symbolizes the victory of good over evil. The next day comes “Rangpanchami”, in which the festival of Holi is celebrated with bright gulal and water colours. The fishermen community has a special importance in this festival. They sing songs, dance and offer delicious offerings to the gods. “Puran Poli” which is a sweet bread filled with jaggery and gram dal is a popular dish of Holi celebration. The city of Mumbai comes alive as star-studded Holi celebrations take place there. In these people play Holi with their favorite artists. The happy atmosphere of Holi fills my mind with joy. Explaining about the Holi festival of Uttar Pradesh, Rajesh Singh, aka Geetanjali Mishra of &TV’s Happu Ki Ultan Paltan said, “Holi is one of the important festivals of Uttar Pradesh, which is celebrated with great enthusiasm. . Interestingly, different parts of UP have unique traditions and festivals. For example, in Mathura, women playfully beat men with sticks during the famous “Lath Maar Holi” of Radha Rani Temple. In such situations, she also sings bhajans. The colors of Holi in Kanpur last for seven days and culminates with the spectacular Ganga Fair. In Varanasi, the city of Shiva, Holi starts with Holika Dahan and the festival is celebrated on the Ganga ghats. This is followed by get-togethers full of enthusiasm and colours. Thandai and Gujhiya increase the fun of the festival. The grandeur and enthusiasm of such festivals is palpable. I wish everyone a wonderful Holi filled with happiness, health and joy.” On the celebration of Holi in Madhya Pradesh, Angoori Bhabhi, aka Shubhangi Atre of &TV’s Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain said, “Madhya Pradesh is celebrating its vibrant Holi. It is famous for its festivals, which last for two consecutive days. Bonfires are lit in various temples on the first day. On the second day, people celebrate the arrival of spring by applying bright colors on each other. After this, move on to traditional dishes like Gujhiya and Laddu. During the festival you can witness melodious songs, energetic dances and drum beats. Tribal communities of the state also celebrate Rangpanchami five days after Holi. This makes the festival more culturally rich. Being a proud resident of Madhya Pradesh, I love these traditions and celebrate Holi with my loved ones.”
