With the aim of combatting crimes against women and children, the festival strives to make Maharashtra the safest place for them. Raell Padamsee collaborated with the Mumbai Police, Maharashtra Government, and the Judiciary to drive this initiative.
Vivek Phansalkar, the Commissioner of Police, Mumbai, attended the festival’s second day and accepted a specially-crafted ‘103 Rakhee’ from Raell Padamsee. This symbolic gesture is part of the larger effort to increase the outreach of the 103 Helpline, ensuring quick response from the Nirbhaya Squad in times of distress. The event was also attended by the Nirbhaya Nodal Officers and other dignitaries.
In his address, Vivek Phansalkar acknowledged the importance of Raell’s efforts in conveying essential messages to society through theatre. He emphasized the significance of women’s safety and security, stating that while helplines are crucial, creating an environment where such calls are unnecessary should be the goal.
