Suriya Starrer Vishwanath And Sons Crosses Rs 115 Crore As Telugu Markets Keep The Film Going Strong

Suriya and Mamitha Baiju's film, Vishwanath And Sons, is keeping up its impressive momentum at the Indian box office, having crossed the remarkable milestone of Rs 115 crore in just 10 days. The movie enjoyed a solid second weekend, raking in about Rs 22.25 crore to boost its overall earnings.

On its second Friday, the film brought in around Rs 5 crore, followed by Rs 8.40 crore on Saturday and Rs 8.85 crore on Sunday. After a strong first week that netted approximately Rs 93 crore, the total collection in India now stands at around Rs 115.25 crore.

The numbers from the second weekend are quite promising, especially since the film is already in its second week. It has successfully retained audience interest, defying the typical drop-off that often follows the opening week. The figures from Sunday, in particular, indicate that moviegoers are still keen to see it.

What adds an intriguing twist to the film's box office journey is its performance in the Telugu states. Even though it's an original Tamil film, Vishwanath And Sons has struck a chord with audiences in the Telugu market, amassing around Rs 49 crore in APTS so far. If it keeps up this pace, it could very well surpass the Rs 60 crore mark.

However, Tamil Nadu tells a different story. The film has garnered about Rs 43.75 crore in its home state, which pales in comparison to its success in the Telugu regions. While the strong response in APTS has helped balance the overall figures, it hasn't quite delivered the same returns for distributors in Tamil Nadu.

Additionally, the movie has pulled in around Rs 14 crore in Karnataka, Rs 7 crore in Kerala, and roughly Rs 1.50 crore from the rest of India, bringing its total domestic gross to around Rs 115.25 crore. The coming days could prove crucial for Vishwanath And Sons.
