Mumbai: Bol Bol Rani actor Sambhaji Sasane shared that one destination stands above the rest as the city didn't just show him somewhere new but held up a mirror to who he is. Speaking about Singapore, he mentioned that the trip instilled discipline in him, and the solo journey turned into one of the most memorable nights of his life.
He said, "Singapore has a completely different life and rhythm, and yet strangely close to us, Asian at its core, with a huge Tamil population and a mix of cultures living side by side. What struck me most was the discipline of the place, and it held a mirror to me. My room is chaotic, I've never been an organised man, I'll admit it freely."
He admitted the trip forced a kind of order on him that he's still working to hold onto. He said, "But travel forces order on you, you must plan your day, be aware, be present, you can't just lie down in a foreign city.”

Aug 26, 2026“Singapore taught me a discipline I'm still catching up to, still improving at. I went to see a country and came back having seen myself. The mess in my room has reduced. The mess in my head, even more," he added.
On what actually changes after a transformative trip, he was certain of its perspective long before its circumstance. He said, "The way you see them, always. We each live inside a set prism, believing the world is only as big as what we've seen. Then you stand in front of art in another country and realise artists there look at everything differently, different discipline, different eyes, and your prism cracks open. You learn. You expand."
He described a quieter kind of gift these journeys have given him, something he calls thehraav, a stillness. He said, "These trips changed how I live daily: I've become more organised, more deliberate. And they gave me something I never had before, thehraav. A stillness.”

He also spoke about why Singapore remains his favourite destination, family trips included. He said, "I make it a point to travel with family at least once or twice a year, those trips are transformative in a different way, you watch the people you love discover things, and their wonder becomes yours.”
“Singapore remains my favourite, it's the place where East and familiar meet, the discipline and order of a global city, but with Tamil spoken on the streets, Asian faces, food that feels like a cousin of ours," he added.
The real highlight, though, came inside a packed cinema hall. He said, "But my most unforgettable moment was in a cinema hall. I watched Rajinikanth sir's Coolie housefull, in Singapore. A theatre packed with the Tamil community, Chinese viewers scattered among them, everyone roaring together for a man on screen. I sat there thinking: this is the power of what we do.”
“A man from Tamil Nadu can fill a hall on foreign soil, and language stops mattering the moment the lights go down. That night wasn't a fan's night out. It was proof of the destination I'm working toward, cinema that travels farther than its language," Sambhaji ended.
