Originally slated for a worldwide release on December 23, “Merry Christmas” found itself sharing the release date with Shah Rukh Khan’s much-anticipated “Dunki.” To avert the box office clash, the makers of “Merry Christmas” decided to preponed the film by a week, targeting a release on December 15. However, this move brought it into direct competition with Sidharth Malhotra’s action-packed film, “Yodha.” Now, in a strategic adjustment, the release date of “Merry Christmas” has been shifted once again, this time to December 8, 2023. The news was officially confirmed by renowned trade analyst Taran Adarsh through a tweet.
A Crowded Box Office Battleground
The newly chosen release date for “Merry Christmas” sets the stage for a fierce box office battle, as it will face formidable opponents. Ranbir Kapoor’s “Animal” and Vicky Kaushal’s “Sam Bahadur” are both slated for release a week ahead of “Merry Christmas,” hitting theaters on December 1, 2023. Furthermore, Sidharth Malhotra-starrer “Yodha” has also been rescheduled to align with “Merry Christmas” on December 8.
