Maha Arogya Shivir TB Mukt Gujarat Event Supports TB Patients and Aligns with India’s TB-Free Vision
On the occasion of Indian Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s 73rd birthday, Dr. Dharmendra Kumar, Chairman of RK HIV AIDS Research and Care Centre, led the ‘Maha Arogya Shivir TB Mukt Gujarat’ event in a significant effort to combat tuberculosis (TB) in the state of Gujarat. This initiative, held at Art and Commerce College in Vyara, Gujarat, was organized to diagnose and support TB patients, in line with the Prime Minister’s vision to make India TB-free by 2025.
A Mission to Eradicate TB
The event aimed to diagnose and provide essential support to TB patients, with 4800 special TB patients being tested, and 970 patients receiving crucial ration kits. The RK HIV AIDS Research and Care Centre, in collaboration with the SBI Foundation, orchestrated this initiative to make Gujarat a tuberculosis-free state.

Dr. Dharmendra Kumar, President of RK HIV AIDS Research and Care Centre, highlighted their alignment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision and stated, “Our mission aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision to eradicate tuberculosis by 2025. We are committed to taking significant steps towards achieving this goal.”

The program is not limited to diagnosis but also includes guidance on preventive measures. The medical team is dedicated to conducting extensive TB testing and offering essential care to reduce TB prevalence in the region.

In addition to testing, the RK HIV AIDS Research and Care Centre places a strong emphasis on community education and counseling. By raising awareness about TB symptoms and educating individuals, they empower people to recognize signs early and seek prompt medical attention. Dr. Dharmendra Kumar encourages everyone to take necessary measures against TB, urging, “If you notice any symptoms of TB or suspect you may have the disease, I urge you to undergo medical tests.”
