Neeltarni’s journey:
Neeltarni has studied improv, clowning, and method acting at renowned institutions in the US. After finishing her studies, she did a lot of comedy theatre in LA and even ran her own mock talk show. Her journey took an unexpected turn when she found herself stranded in India due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This turned out to be a beautiful opportunity to stay and work in India for some time.
Her first projects in India:
Neeltarni’s first project in India was a short film titled “2100 Ft” with the legendary Naseeruddin Shah, where she had the incredible opportunity to write dialogues for and act opposite him. Subsequently, “The Elephant in the Room” came to fruition, with Daisy Shah’s involvement, making both projects even more special.

Concept of The Elephant In The Room:
The Elephant In The Room is a short film that highlights the power of wishing, truth, and the consequences it can have on human interactions. It tells the story of a group of friends who gather for a party, but their secrets are revealed when Lord Ganpati starts unveiling their unspoken truths. This forces people to confront their hidden secrets, laying bare the tangled web of deceit and honesty. As these truths emerge, relationships are tested, alliances crumble, and a storm of emotions unfolds.

Neeltarni’s favorite scene in the movie is when Pornika, an incorrect English speaking stylish maid, is caught stealing, and her defense is an absolute riot. With hilarious, incorrect English, she attempts to explain her actions, creating a sidesplitting comedy. Her quirky explanations and linguistic mishaps turn a tense situation into an uproarious moment, showcasing the power of humor to diffuse tension.
