Mumbai: For Ganga Mai Ki Betiyan actor Rohin Joshi, travelling is more about experiences than luxury. He enjoys slow travel, exploring new places like a local and taking time to understand different ways of life.
“I am someone who likes slow travel and doesn't need a lot of luxury to enjoy a trip. I like soaking in a place and exploring it like a local. Even though I love adventure, it is not something I look for on every trip,” he says.
One experience that has stayed with him is a six-day trek to Brahmatal in the Himalayas, which he undertook a decade ago. “That was the first time I lived away from a permanent settlement for a few days. Being completely disconnected from the city or even a village, with just basic necessities and great company, was something that stayed with me. I would love to go back for another long Himalayan trek soon,” he shares.

Oct 31, 2026While he enjoys short trips with family and friends, Rohin particularly loves travelling solo. “I like going on small trips with family and friends, but my favourite is a frugal backpacking trip that I get to do solo,” he adds.
For the actor, travelling also offers an opportunity for self-reflection. “It helps me understand different ways of life and widens my worldview. Since I don't work while travelling, it also gives me uninterrupted time for self-reflection,” he says.
Talking about his travel essentials, Rohin mentions a neck pillow, a bottle of water and earbuds. Taiwan is also high on his travel bucket list. “Being vegan and someone who loves talking to locals, Taiwan appeals to me because it has wholeheartedly accepted the plant-based lifestyle and is comparatively more English-friendly than its neighbours. Of course, it also has many beautiful places to visit,” he shares.

Oct 26, 2026If given a month without work commitments, the actor would head to the United Kingdom during football season. “I am a big sports fan, and the idea of spending a month there watching matches live at legendary stadiums on weekends seems very enticing, even though it would cost a lot,” he says.
For those seeking peace and perspective, Rohin recommends escaping busy city life. “I think any quaint place, a little away from the hustle and bustle of urban India, would be a good option,” he concludes.
