In the age of digital entertainment and social media, platforms like YouTube have opened up vast opportunities for content creators and viewers alike. Anusha Mishra acknowledges the allure of YouTube, where viewers can find a blend of entertainment and educational content. She explains, "It does get difficult because you get both entertainment and the opportunity to learn something new, so you want to keep watching. But it's also fun if you have the time. And if you don't have the time, and you're still doing it, that just means you're procrastinating, which I do a lot."

Recognizing the challenge of managing online addiction, she emphasizes the importance of controlling one's consumption. Anusha shares her strategy, saying, "Every addiction needs to be controlled in a certain manner. It needs to be limited slowly, and I think that's what I do, and I'm doing pretty well. So, how do I limit my time viewing on YouTube? I tell myself that with YouTube's premium version, you can still play it in the background while you do other things. I also listen to a lot of podcasts."

Anusha Mishra's viewing preferences on YouTube encompass a wide range of content. From celebrity talk shows like "The Graham Norton Show" to comedian and content creator Lilly Singh, she enjoys a diverse mix of entertainment. She also mentions her interest in shows like "Hot Ones," where celebrities tackle spicy chicken wings while answering questions.

Additionally, Anusha finds solace in music and learning new skills. She explains, "Music is mostly what I listen to, or I'm usually learning to cook something new. I like learning Hangul (Korean), I do it through one or two channels."

Balancing Reality and Entertainment

The accessibility of YouTube on mobile devices makes it incredibly convenient for users to engage with content from anywhere. Anusha acknowledges the allure of these platforms and the escape they offer from the challenges of reality. She says, "You have to consciously make an effort, even if you're on Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, or any other social media application because it can take you away from reality. It helps because reality is sometimes quite difficult to digest and live with."

Drawing parallels to reading books, Anusha highlights the immersive nature of online content consumption. She likens it to the experience of getting lost in a good book, explaining, "Books transport you to a fictitious world, and you get absorbed in it until you finish the book. YouTube or any social media platform works the same way for me. I have to consciously remind myself to come back to reality and handle the tasks I need to do."

Anusha's insights serve as a reminder of the delicate balance required in the digital age. While online platforms offer a world of entertainment and knowledge, it's essential to manage our screen time mindfully and stay grounded in the real world. Her perspective sheds light on the challenges many face in navigating the fine line between digital entertainment and daily responsibilities.
