It was a truly magical homecoming when San Francisco-based National Award-winning Hindustani classical vocalist Mahesh Kale returned to India for his Diwali special concert series in Maharashtra, performing in Dadar, Thane, and culminating in a spellbinding concert at the iconic Royal Opera House, Mumbai on Diwali and the following day. The Royal Opera House glowed with devotion and festive warmth, filled to capacity with a sea of people who came to soak in the light of Kale’s music. On the sacred occasion of Diwali and Lakshmi Pooja, Kale’s voice seemed to mirror the radiance of a thousand diyas… each note lighting up hearts and drawing the audience into a state of spiritual bliss.

One could see eyes closing, lips quietly mouthing the words, and souls lifted together in unison. Kale’s soulful renditions of Anand Manao Mangal Gao, Majhe Jeevan Gane, Morya Morya, Man Lobhale Man Mohne, and He Suranno Chandra Vha, among others, held the audience in a state of serene enchantment.
