Aseem Arrora is a well known writer in the Hindi film industry and has won accolades for films like Malang, Baazar, Bell Bottom, Mission Majnu, Freddy, Crew, The Buckingham Murders, Mukhbir and The Sabarmati Report. When asked about the possible trends for 2025 in the industry he says,”I feel we should confidently walk the path of quality mass films like Dangal, Pathan, 3 Idiots, Rang De Basanti, Bhaag Milkha and the likes. We were doing very well and the audience, box office were all working perfectly. We should just stay on the same progressive path in the coming year.”
He also shares his views on where the industry has lacked when it comes to box office earnings. “Agreed there’s a lot of pre-pandemic writing that’s not worked. Because the audience has gotten exposed to varied narratives during the pandemic. Remakes aren’t working because of the same reason. At the same time I believe we will come out stronger from this phase. One film that I feel we should all take pride in and learn from is Pathaan. Sid Anand made a complete film, packed with twists and turns, intelligent plot points and an urban language.”
Aseem shares one of his highlights of 2024 was The Sabarmati Report. He says,”The Sabarmati Reports critical and commercial success made me happy and confident. Working with Ekta Kapoor has been a joyride. I knew for sure that turning a co producer with her would ensure the product is in safe hands and I will get enough say in the making.” Aseem started his own production house in 2023 titled Moral Of The Story. He aspires to produce more innovative subjects next year.
