Mumbai: A theatre artist from Lucknow, a few years in Mumbai and now a film of his own. Ali Abbas has come a long way from his early days on stage, and his latest project, ‘Bulldozer’, sees him take charge as a writer and director.
Released on October 2 on the Entertain TV YouTube channel, the film deals with illegal land occupation and the fight for justice. Abbas has also acted in the film, taking up a negative role.
Mumbai was once the next big step for Abbas. He moved there hoping to build a career in acting and spent nearly eight years working his way through the film and television industry.Life took him back to Lucknow when his father fractured both his hips, leaving Abbas to take care of him.

Oct 7, 2026Lucknow ended up giving him the setting for his next story. While staying there, Abbas kept an eye on the action against land mafias in Uttar Pradesh and the use of bulldozers in such cases. The subject caught his attention and slowly turned into the story of ‘Bulldozer’.
At the heart of the film is a question that does not have an easy answer. When a bulldozer is used in the name of action against illegal occupation, does it mean justice, or can it become oppression? Abbas leaves that question open for the audience instead of telling them what to think.
Vaanya Anand, Vishaal Anand, Neeraj Sharma, Nitin Chopra, Akash Srivastava and Rehan Mirza feature alongside Abbas in the film. Sandeep Tiwari RG has handled the cinematography and Azmi Hussain has taken care of the editing.
