The International Day of Happiness is celebrated on March 20 every year, to promote happiness and well-being as a fundamental human right. In this spirit, we asked some celebrities to share their secret to being happy. Here’s what they had to say:
Rishina Kandhari: “I am a happy-go-lucky person. And happiness, to me, means following my passion. I do everything that brings me happiness and keeps me calm. My work gives me happiness, my passion for photography gives me happiness and everything I do, like my travel, is my happiness.” Rishina’s approach to happiness is to focus on doing what she loves, and finding joy in her passions.
Nivedita Basu: “I think happiness for me is anything that brings a smile to me and my family, my kids and my work. I think that holds the utmost importance in everyone’s life. My kids, my family, my good health, my wellness and my mental health are above everything. The day my job doesn’t give me happiness, will be the day I will retire.” Nivedita values the things that matter most in life – family, health, and work that brings joy.
Charrul Malik: “Happiness is everything to me. If we are not happy, nothing looks good. If we are not happy, we aren’t hungry, we don’t feel like working, we don’t feel like talking, we don’t look at the world with happiness, we are not ourselves if we are not happy. Happiness is so vital and I think there’s no life without happiness.” Charrul believes that happiness is the foundation of a good life, and that everything else falls into place when we are happy.
Hansa Singh: “Happiness is the magic potion of life .. it’s life for me …Happiness can be at different levels with different agendas and targets in life.” Hansa recognizes that happiness can take many forms, and that it’s important to find joy in the different aspects of life.
Esha Gaur: “Happiness means everything to me. Happiness is more important because if you’re happy only then you can be successful. My greatest strength is my kids and I always want to be happy and healthy for them always. And they also learn this thing from me.” Esha believes that happiness is the key to success, and that being a positive role model for her children is a source of happiness for her.
