For actor Worship Khanna, birthdays have always been more about introspection and calm than grand celebrations. Known for his roles in popular shows like Kumkum Bhagya, Meri Doli Mere Angana, Ishq Subhan Allah, and web series such as Hello Jee and Cold Lassi and Chicken Masala, Worship—currently seen in Pati Brahmachari—believes in keeping things simple and soulful on his special day.
“I had no plans this year either, since I was working,” he shared. “Last year too, I was on set with the same production house, Shashi Sumeet. I celebrated my birthday on the sets of Dhruv Tara, and later that night, had a small get-together with my friends at home. I don’t usually plan anything extravagant. A few close friends who love me bring a cake at midnight, and we celebrate quietly. This year, I was working the next day as well. If I ever have a day off on my birthday, I like to visit a temple. That’s all—nothing fancy.”
Worship admits he’s not one for loud parties or clubbing. “Honestly, I’m not into noisy celebrations or club-hopping. If I ever do plan something, I’d prefer spending a couple of days at a peaceful resort with a few close friends or family members. I’d just relax with my pets and unwind. For me, birthdays are about me time—quiet, peaceful, and reflective.”
What makes his birthdays even more special is his desire to grow with each passing year. “Every year, I try to start a new ritual or build a habit that adds value to my life. This time too, I was hoping to begin something new. Let’s see where it leads.”

He’s grown used to spending his birthday at work, and he doesn’t mind it at all. “For the last three years, I’ve been on sets on my birthday. Two years ago, I celebrated in Dubai while filming a web series. Last year, I was on the sets of a Shashi Sumeet show. Hopefully, this year too, I might end up cutting a cake with the same team again.”
When asked about the best gift he could receive, Worship doesn’t hesitate. “For me, the most meaningful gift is someone’s physical presence on my birthday. I live alone in this city, far from my family, so having close ones around really makes the day feel special. Some of my friends make sure I feel pampered and loved, and I truly feel blessed for that.”
As for what he’d gift himself? “More discipline and focus,” he said with a smile. “I want to stay committed to my goals, love myself more, grow, and stay motivated for my work.”
And there’s one person whose presence—or even a call—is non-negotiable on his birthday. “My mom. She’s never missed wishing me on my birthday. If she ever did, I’d feel incomplete without her blessings. Apart from her, there are a few friends I’ll never forget. And if someone forgets my birthday,” he laughed, “I’m not shy—I’ll call them before midnight and remind them: ‘Hey, today’s my birthday. I didn’t get your call!’”
