Verma reveals, “Kaala came to me when it was a very low phase in my life. It’s a special role which is performance-oriented. I was in a very low phase of my life, and nothing was working out. But that’s the beauty; it gives you the strength to stand alone. That’s when my book of poetry got published and received a good response.”
The actress emphasizes the role played by Bejoy Nambiar, the director of “Kaala,” in her journey. Nambiar came across Verma’s book of poetry and was inspired to collaborate with her on the series. He invited her to contribute poetry to the series and offered her a role that ultimately helped her overcome a deep state of depression resulting from the loss of her father.
