Shivangi Verma, who has worked in shows like Tera Ishq Mera Fitoor and Choti Sarrdaarni and the movie Badass Ravi Kumar and will soon be seen in the movie Gaurishankar Gauharganj Wale, recently hosted an event where she had the opportunity to take interviews for orthopedicians.
Talking about her experience, she said, "It was definitely a very different and enriching experience. Coming from an entertainment background, I am used to connecting with audiences through stories, emotions, and creativity. But here, I was engaging with the legends of the medical fraternity, people whose work directly impacts lives in the most real way."
"I anchored conversations with some of the most respected orthopedicians, including the president of the medical field himself. The event wasn’t just about hosting; it was about absorbing knowledge, clearing doubts, and helping spread awareness about critical health conditions that need timely attention. It was fruitful in every sense, professionally and personally," she added.

She said, "I wasn’t scared of anchoring; that comes naturally to me, but I knew I had to be well-prepared. The industry I come from means I influence a lot of people, so I felt the need to equip myself with accurate information before stepping into these conversations."
"I researched extensively, understood the basics of orthopedic health, and prepared my questions so they could benefit both the experts and the audience," she added.
Asked how anchoring is different from acting, she said, "Acting is about becoming someone else; it’s portraying a character and its emotions. Anchoring, on the other hand, is about being yourself at the event. As an anchor you need to be spontaneous and aware, ensuring the audience stays engaged. Acting gives you the liberty to hide behind a role."
