“Happiness Comes from the Littlest Moments,” Says Indraxi Kanjilal

Happiness means different things to different people, and for actress Indraxi Kanjilal who plays Prathana in Pushpa Impossible, it’s all about cherishing both the big and small moments of life. Reflecting on what happiness means to her, Indraxi says, “For me, happiness comes when the people I love and care about are happy. When I hear about their successes and know that they are doing well, it brings me joy. I also feel genuinely happy when I can make them proud.”

But it’s not just the grand achievements that bring her joy. Indraxi believes happiness often lies in the simplest moments. “Sometimes, happiness comes from the littlest moments. Like when I take an auto ride and reach my destination without getting stuck in traffic or waiting at red lights, that’s a little victory. Or when something is about to fall, and I catch it just in time, I feel glad that nothing bad happened,” she shares.

At the end of a peaceful day, the actress feels the most content. “If everything has gone well, I’ve laughed, enjoyed myself, and faced no major problems, I feel relaxed and happy. Lying in bed and thinking, ‘Today was a good day, and I’m going to remember it,’ is a beautiful kind of happiness,” Indraxi adds.

Recalling the special moments of her career, Indraxi highlights her first project as a significant source of joy. “My first project was when I was just three years old. I started modeling as a hobby, just for fun. Since my father is a producer, I grew up around people from the industry. Many of them would often suggest that I should try modeling because of how I looked. Eventually, I gave it a shot and got into it,” she says.

She remembers her first day on set like it was yesterday. “It was a special and exciting experience for me, especially because I was so young. That project holds a lot of significance in my life, and I would even say it was perfectly splendid,” she recalls.

Another unforgettable moment for Indraxi was when she landed her first national television show. “I remember it like it was yesterday. I was about to enter the theater to watch Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness when I received a call. They told me I had been selected for the role and needed to come to Mumbai for a mock shoot. At first, I couldn’t believe it. I even asked them if it was a prank call!” she laughs.

She had always dreamed of starting her acting career at 18, and that dream came true. “It felt surreal. I truly believe in the power of manifestation, and this experience made me believe in it even more. Getting that role as the second lead on Sony Sab was a massive achievement for me. I never thought I would land such an opportunity at such a young age,” Indraxi adds.

Indraxi also believes that happiness isn’t something that can always be practiced or forced. “Honestly, you can’t always practice something to be happy in life. Sometimes, no matter what you do, happiness just doesn’t come. If you’re not feeling happy from within, nothing external can truly make you feel better,” she shares.

As a psychology student, Indraxi understands how internal feelings can affect happiness. “Often, there are things buried deep in your subconscious that trouble you without you even realizing it. Even when good things happen, you might still feel numb or broken inside. In those moments, happiness can feel distant,” she explains.

However, she chooses to focus on positivity. “Even though positivity doesn’t always work, I make an effort to maintain a positive mindset. Life can be surrounded by negativity, but I believe in shining like a lotus, growing beautifully despite the muddy surroundings,” Indraxi says with a smile.

She also emphasizes the importance of managing emotions. “I tend to experience emotions very intensely. When I’m angry, I feel the fullest rage; when I’m sad, I feel deeply broken. While emotions are natural and valid, too much of anything can be harmful. I’ve realized that balancing my emotions is crucial for my mental well-being,” she adds.

Another technique Indraxi swears by is not giving too much attention to negative experiences. “Ignoring negativity, or even adopting a slightly delusional mindset , believing that nothing bad is happening ,can sometimes work. When you train your mind to think that everything is fine, your thoughts begin to shape your reality. This kind of mental manifestation can gradually bring more positivity into your life,” she explains.
