The Senior Actor Shares Why She Prefers to Remain Silent Despite Her Films' Massive Box Office Collections
Renowned actor Tabu has had an impressive career in Bollywood, delivering memorable performances in numerous films over the years. Her recent projects, Drishyam 2 and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, were both massive box office hits, but the actor has preferred to keep a low profile about their success.
In a recent interview with ETimes, Tabu revealed why she chooses not to boast about her films' box office collections, despite their massive success. She shared that when everyone else is already talking about the films' success, there is no need for her to do so as well. According to the senior actor, she prefers to let others talk on her behalf and remain silent.

Apr 2, 2026Tabu stated, "Mere nahi bolne se thodi na woh fact chhup gaya? (Will the fact that my films made money be hidden if I don't talk about it?) Dekho, jab duniya koi cheez bolti hain na, toh apko chup baith jana chahiye. (When the world is already talking about something, you should remain quiet.) Everybody else was doing the job for me, so why should I do so much mehnat (hard work)."
Tabu further shared that her seniority in the industry should allow her to use her position to not talk about her own work, especially when others are already doing it for her. The actor expressed that she has never felt the need to boast about her work, and that people should do what they enjoy and what comes naturally to them.
Drishyam 2, released on November 18, 2022, alongside Ajay Devgn and Akshaye Khanna, garnered an impressive opening at the box office. The film had the second biggest opening for a Bollywood film in 2022 and earned ₹15.38 crore at the domestic box office on its opening day. A sequel to the 2015 crime thriller Drishyam, the film also stars Shriya Saran and Ishita Dutta. Tabu's other release last year, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, directed by Anees Bazmee and produced by Bhushan Kumar, saw an opening day collection of ₹14 crore and went on to earn more than ₹266 crore worldwide. The film starred Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani alongside Tabu.
