Love is the universal emotion that binds us all. It is the reason why the world feels a better place. Celebrating the day of love is therefore special. With Valentine’s Day round the corner, everyone is looking forward to spending the day with their near and dear ones and that special someone. Actor-entrepreneur Sneha Namanandi shares about the significance of the day.
“This year I have no such plans. In fact, I am going to be with my family and my dog and I will be working. Valentine’s Day is a beautiful day for people who love each other and it’s a beautiful thing to celebrate,” she continues, “It’s very important for a person to tell the other person how much they mean to them. I am someone who shows it in actions more than verbally. In my actions you will definitely see how much a person means to me. The same thing is with my family and friends. I go out of my comfort zone if someone means something to me. I am a person of actions. The person who knows me would definitely know that.”
Everyone has a very different way of dealing with love and relationships. Some people are very expressive, while others aren’t. On which category she belongs, Sneha begins by talking about self love.

Apr 4, 2026“I feel every person should be in love and respect themselves, and do things for themselves. When a person is happy from within, they can keep people around them happy. It’s not right to be dependent on someone else for your happiness. We all need love and compassion and it’s beautiful to love and be loved. You can’t completely throw yourself on someone and hold them responsible for your happiness or lack of love,” she says.
The actor and social media influencer feels that coming together in love and creating a different world is a beautiful thing. “It’s very important to be happy as a person and it comes only with your regular pattern of living and your thought process. Holding someone responsible for your flaws and shortcomings isn’t right,” she adds.
In the entertainment industry, there’s much pressure, competition and one also faces unsolicited judgements. People don't get an outlet for their emotions in spite of being in the business of emotions.

Apr 2, 2026“We should teach our younger generation and siblings, kids that it is fine to be happy alone also and later if you find someone that’s beautiful too as that person joins in your journey. But, expecting that this kind of person or love you want will come to you for sure is wrong. That’s why I say that if you are happy you automatically create a happy environment,” she says.
On whether people should be more open about their feelings and emotions, Sneha adds, “Judgements are passed when people are really very free in life and they don’t have any work to do. Be it the business of acting or any other businesses, judgments are never going to stop. For me, it doesn’t matter if people judge me or not because I am not going to stop no matter what. I have a lot of goals and dreams in my life that I have to accomplish. And, if I start listening to them I will never be able to achieve my goals,” she shares.
The meaning of love has changed over the years. This generation is far more practical even about love and are said to be less emotional.
“People mostly do what the society wants them to do. They automatically get influenced by it and I blame no one for changing the meaning of love. It differs from person to person, it’s more of an understanding between the two people and the love they share. At the same time, I must say that everything varies from person to person and we cannot expect different generations to behave in a certain way and that’s why it’s up to the person and the couple. Definitely, the old school love was beautiful. Now, people’s priorities have also changed a lot. And they have adapted to the changes and will take things forward with them when they are sure,” she ends.
