The show completed eight years and 2000 episodes, and Vidisha Srivastava aka ‘Gori Mem’ Anita Bhabi completed one year of playing Anita in the show. We caught up with Vidisha to discuss her journey and experience of playing one of the most popular characters on Indian television.
When asked about how it feels to complete a year as Anita while the show completes eight years and 2000 episodes, Vidisha expressed her gratitude for being a part of such a successful show. She admitted that she was skeptical when she was approached to play Anita, as two actresses had already played the role beautifully. However, after a year of being associated with the show, she feels blessed for being accepted and appreciated for portraying Anita Bhabi. Asking about the impact of the show on her life, Vidisha revealed that people have started addressing her by her character's name, Anita Bhabi, on social media and in her friend circle. She shared an emotional incident when people in her hometown recognized her as Anita Bhabi during Maha Shivratri. She considers it the biggest compliment for any actor to be recognized for the role they play onscreen.

Finally, when asked about her plans for signing Bollywood movies, Vidisha shared that she has been offered Hindi movies before, but she did not accept the roles as they did not excite her.
