According to Malik, shows like Anupama and Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hai have been revolutionary in their portrayal of progressive female characters. She says, "Anupama is very close to reality, unlike Nagin, which is fictitious. It's about a women's journey and women empowerment. It has caught people's attention."
She adds that a good story is a must, along with talented actors. Shows like Anupama, Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hai, Shanti, Swabhimaan, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki, and Kkusum Heena have created history and set role models for women.

Watching these shows, you don't feel that they have become old because there is always something new. People will remember these shows, they like these shows and will remember them forever," says Malik. She also expresses her pride in being a part of Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hai, which has completed eight years.
However, Malik cautions that people do get influenced by such narratives because viewers of rural characters take TV characters to be real. "Whatever you see every day, you absorb it and it does influence our minds. There is no denying about that," she concludes.
