Casting director Shubham Sharma says that his casting journey was quite an eventful one. He says that he was lucky to meet some wonderful people along the way who have helped him out.
“I come from a very humble background from Banaras. I completed my schooling from a government school in Banaras and moved to Delhi for graduation. From school days, I was really fascinated with school plays, Banaras fairs, Ramleela and hence eventually, started taking part in school plays. Once I moved to Delhi, I joined a theatre group called Asmita and learned the craft of acting. It pushed me more to get into this field and make it as my career and hence I shifted to Bombay in 2014, and tried acting for 2-3 years but it didn't help out much so for survival, I did a casting job for an ad with a freelance casting director,” he says.
He adds, “Post that, after three months I was fortunate to meet Anmol Ahuja and Abhishek Banerjee at Casting Bay. I enjoyed and learnt the basics of casting from them and since then I am here casting for ads under their guidance. I am grateful that I met them and my life is on a beautiful path.”

Apr 4, 2026Shubham is currently working as the casting director for ads with Casting Bay. “I have done more than 500 ads (TVC's plus Digital). The prominent ones are Flipkart kids series, Dream 11 series which we generally see during IPL, Phonepay- Googlepay - bharatpay ad series, Cadbury ads, HDFC life insurance campaign, Kotak, ICICI, Swiggy, Zomato, Tanishq ,Honda, Center Fresh, Vivo phone, Thumbs Up, Pepsi, Big Basket, Jio Mart, Hyundai, Wagnor, Gemini oil , Dhara Oil and many more brands,” he says.
Shubham has worked with celebrities such as Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Tigmanshu Dhulia, Pankaj Tripathi, Salman Khan, Taapsee Pannu, Katrina Kaif, Hrithik Roshan, Anil Kapoor, Karan Johar, Kartik Aryan, Vijay Raaj and many others too.
Talking about the future, he says, “I enjoy the process of casting and I wish to produce ads in the near future. I am an actor at heart and wish to do more acting projects this year and be a part of good stories. I have acted as a lead on Unacademy ad directed by Suresh Triveni sir and learned a lot. I also worked with many great directors like Shakun Batra, Rajesh Ramakrishnan, Sharat Katariya, Shekhar Kamble, Shashank Chaturvedi, Punit Malhotra and many more and learnt a lot from the masters
