Mumbai: The recent shooting incident involving Tiger Shroff has raised questions about celebrity security yet again. We have earlier heard news about shooting at Rohit Shetty’s bungalow and outside Salman Khan’s home. Even with high security arrangements, the focus often shifts to security arrangements after an incident, but the bigger concern is whether enough is being done to prevent such threats in the first place. Actress Sherleen Dutt, currently seen in Beinteha Season 2, shares her concerns about the safety of celebrities and those around them, the need for better coordination between security teams and law enforcement, and why safety should never become a privilege reserved for those who can afford it.
“Honestly, it’s quite disturbing. As actors, we dedicate our lives to entertaining people, and nobody deserves to feel unsafe simply because they’re a public figure. What happened with Tiger Shroff, and earlier with Salman Khan sir and Rohit Shetty sir, is definitely concerning. And it’s not just about celebrities; their families, staff, and even innocent people around them could be at risk. I think the industry needs to take this very seriously,” she said.
Asked if these incidents expose gaps in the security systems protecting Bollywood celebrities, she said, “I wouldn’t say the entire security system is failing, but clearly there are areas that need more attention. I feel we’re often more focused on increasing security after something happens rather than preventing it in the first place. And honestly, prevention should always be the priority. Nobody should have to experience an attack before their safety becomes important.”

Upasana Kamineni Konidela Gives a Strong Message Against Women Who Pull Other Women Down for Personal Benefit or to Please Weak Men
Oct 25, 2026She stressed that early action and communication are extremely important. She said, “Even small threats, suspicious activities, or online warnings shouldn’t be taken lightly. There should be better coordination between celebrities, their teams, and law enforcement agencies. Sometimes we ignore warning signs thinking nothing serious will happen, but one timely action can genuinely save someone’s life.”
On the question of celebrities hiring private security, she said, “I believe it’s a shared responsibility. Celebrities should definitely take precautions and invest in personal security when required, but ultimately, everyone’s safety is the responsibility of law enforcement. And I strongly feel safety shouldn’t become a luxury that only people who can afford expensive security can enjoy. Whether you’re a superstar or an ordinary citizen, everyone deserves to feel protected.”
With so many incidents happening repeatedly, though she doesn’t want to assume that every incident is connected, she stressed that it does create a sense of fear within the industry. She said, “We already work in an unpredictable profession, and personal safety shouldn’t become another uncertainty. Cinema is supposed to bring people together, not become a reason for anyone to live in fear.”

Oct 24, 2026What concrete measures are needed to prevent such attacks? “I think we need smarter security, not just more security guards. Better surveillance, regular risk assessments, stronger cyber monitoring, and proper safety arrangements at shoots and public events can make a real difference. Even being mindful about sharing real-time locations is important today. But most importantly, the focus should be on stopping the people behind these threats, not just protecting people from the next attack. Because real safety isn’t about learning to live with fear; it’s about creating an environment where people don’t have to live in fear at all,” Sherleen ended.
