Mumbai has been ranked as more expensive than Sydney, Berlin and Toronto. This does not come across as a surprise for those living there. Director, producer and actor Supriya Khan, known for One Stop for Love (2020), Krishna (1996) and International Khiladi (1999), agrees with the survey.
"I am a Mumbaikar "Yeh meri janam aur karam bhoomi hai" so yes it makes me so proud to be born and raised in this 'City of Dreams' and I believe that dreams are expensive," she continues about how the pace of life here is stressful, "The pace of the city is surely very fast and stressful but since I was born and raised here I am used to this fast lifestyle and it gives me a kick to stay out of my comfort zone and be an achiever."
Mumbai has the highest cost of living. "It is also called a world city. Mumbai's expensive residential and commercial real estate is one of the main factors making it the most expensive city based on Equated Monthly Installments EMI-to-income ratio," she says.

"Yes, of course, Mumbai is a far more professional and career-centric city compared to other cities. Talking about the pros and cons of a city like Mumbai, she adds, "Pros would be that it is safest city with Economic Opportunities, The Quality of healthcare is low but it's affordable, and Cultural Diversity, cheap Public Transportation, a Big entertainment industry and Nightlife, world cuisine 24 hours best affordable and expensive option for Food and dining, and and an affordable and expensive education which has the best International and local private schools. And as far as cons are concerned, Mumbai is a crowded city with opportunities and, because of this, it attracts many job applicants, so competition for positions is fierce which makes people work under immense pressure and put in long hours. The major problem in Mumbai is the growth of squatter settlements known in India as Slums, Lack of Space, Heavy Traffic, High cost of living, Hot and Humid Weather, Monsoon Flooding, and bad Road conditions."

There is a different vibe to the city at night and it is safe for a woman to venture out in the wee hours, as the city rightly never sleeps. Two changes you think should make the city better? "Being smart would be one word to make Mumbai a better city. Be smart to choose the right Government to plan a smart economy, and a healthy environment to have good living with fast mobility," she replies.
