Entertainment aside, actress Sherleen Dutt who has been a part ‘KINK’ and ‘Honey Trap Squad’, says that violence portrayed in films such as Animal, needs to be looked at as a potential source of emulation for the youth. She adds that while it is not wrong to showcase violence, we need to be careful about portraying it on screen.
“The surge in popularity of films like Animal, with intense violence, raises important questions about the impact of such content on diverse audiences. While teenagers and adults make up a significant portion of viewers, it's crucial to consider the potential consequences of consuming excessive violence in entertainment,” she says.
She adds, “The fascination with violence in the media doesn't necessarily imply an inherent violent nature in individuals. Instead, it may be rooted in a complex blend of curiosity, thrill-seeking, and the escapism that entertainment provides. However, it's essential to tread carefully, particularly when catering to a wide age range.”

Striking a balance that respects artistic expression while being mindful of potential consequences is crucial for the film industry and OTT platforms alike.
