After joining hands with his mother Deepa Shahi for "Anupamaa", Rajan Shahi has collaborated with his daughter Ishika Shahi for a prequel to the popular show. Titled "Anupamaa - Namaste America", the series has been created by Rajan and streams exclusively on Disney+Hotstar. It is being produced under the father-daughter's newly launched banner I Shahi Entertainment LLP.
The 11-episode web series takes the viewers on a journey in Anupamaa's life 17 years ago. The streaming platform will release one episode every day for the viewers to watch. Not to forget this is also the first time a prequel to a TV show has been made.
The series went live on April 25 and started with a young Anupamaa who gets an opportunity to go to America. But Vanraj couldn't let Anupamaa fly high, at least not higher than him, and does the unthinkable to stop her. It will be interesting to watch how Anupamaa manages to stay strong even when her dreams are shattered by the man she loves.
I Shahi Entertainment LLP is Rajan's third production banner after Director's Kut Productions and Shahi Productions Pvt Ltd. He launched Shahi production Pvt. Ltd. with his mother, Deepa Shhai, in 2020, and the first show to release under their banner is "Anupamaa". With "Anupamaa - Namaste America" his daughter too has turned producer, and will be dealing with the digital content created for them.
Rajan is already riding high on the success of his show "Anupamaa" to "Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai", "Aai Kuthe Kaay Karte" and "Woh Toh Hai Albelaa", and "Anupamaa - Namaste America" will be another feather to his cap. We wish him all the best for the show's success.
