In today’s time and age content is the king. Any show or film is only successful if the story is impressive and the execution has been done well, irrespective of the actors who are a part of it. However, Janam Janam Ka Sath actor Pankit Thakker looks at it differently, especially in a medium like television. He feels here it is always the treatment.
“It is important for a maker to have their own unique way of telling a story. If you think the content is going to set you apart, that is not true. Gone are the days when people wanted to see big TV stars, today everyone wants to work with people who have the guts to be different and take risks. They don’t want to work on bankable names but with unadulterated talent and unfiltered people,” he explains.
Pankit feels daily soap is a great medium for actors who like to build a character from scratch and give it their all as an artist.

Mar 20, 2026“I love daily soaps as I really love building up an interesting and engaging character that connects with the audience. I love to experiment with my voice, body language, diction and I love to live in the character and give it my all. I have been lucky that I have given some of the most memorable characters like Harsh Bhatia in Kabhii Sautan Kabhii Sahelii, Dr. Atul Joshi in Dill Mill Gayye, Krish in Kumkum, Ajay Desai in Special Squad etc. And now I am hoping that the audience will also love me the same as Kunwar Sa,” he says.
Competition in the industry is increasing every day. “Competition is there at all levels in all industries. Those who will evolve with the evolving times; they will be relevant no matter the competition. I have managed to stay relevant for the past two decades and will keep the fire in me alive to be relevant for the years to come, adapting and reinventing myself to give my best,” he adds.
Unlike earlier times, male actors as well as female actors get equal footage on TV now. “I have been one of the few male actors in the industry who has always managed to get amazing roles with a lot of screen time so the question of getting equal footage is not relevant in my case,” he ends.
