Krishna Kotian essays an important character in Amazon’s upcoming series Bestseller helmed by Mukul Abhyankar. The 53 years young actor is playing the role of Arjan Bajwa’s legal counsel in the psychological thriller that has an ensemble cast that includes Mithun Chakraborty, Shruti Hassan, Gauhar Khan, Satyajeet Dubey, and Sonalee Kulkarni.
Commenting on the occasion Krishna said “When I got to know that Mithun dada is a part of the project, I jumped on to it immediately. It was like a dream come true to be a part of the legendary actor’s streaming debut. My role in the series is comparatively smaller but breathing the same air as Mithun dada was the fan moment that I have been waiting for since my college days. I would have done the project even for “just a scene”. I used to wear headgear and kept my hair as he did after watching Disco Dancer. I had just passed out of college then and my father used to scold me for copying dada’s antics. I have watched all his films and most of them on the release day itself. The sets became lively when Dada was there and everyone would gather to watch him perform live."
The series marks the actor’s second outing on OTT this month – the first one being Rocket Boys. He has a line-up of five more releases in 202,includings films and web series. “Acting is the dream that I had from my younger days and the digital inflection made it possible. The stories on digital platforms are not stereotypical, unlike cinema and television. They are more honest and hence connect with the audiences better. The digital wave has also broken the language barriers and now good content in any language is being appreciated. I sincerely hope that this trend continues” said Krishna as he signed off for the moment.
