There to promote two of her films, ‘Country of Blind’ and ‘Before Life After Death’, actress-producer Namita Lal is having the time of her life at the ongoing Cannes Film Festival. She got the chance to walk the legendary red carpet this year, where she interacted with Hollywood actress Julianne Moore as well as music-composer-singer AR Rahman.
“Julianne Moore was so humble. She was allowing so many people to talk to her, giving them her autographs. She walked up to me and I said, ‘Ma’am can I have a photo’, and she was most willing. I was amazed about how humble she was,” she says.
She loves watching Julianne on screen. “I absolutely loved Julianne in ‘Hunger Games’ and she is one of my favourite actors. I also loved her portrayal in ‘Still Alice’,” she says.
Talking about sharing the carpet with AR Rahman, she adds, “It was a pleasure to be in the same arena as AR Rahman as well. He was here in 2019 also. I love all his songs. His earlier numbers in the Mani Ratnam movies are my all-time favourites. And, of course, his Jai Ho got us on the global stage.”
