Actress Aneesha Madhok says that she started her career with theatre and didn’t know that she would enter films. She says that she had always been a Bollywood buff from the beginning.
“I think I was first attracted to theatre and I happened to get into films by being part of theatre. When I was acting in the play "Infidel", I was spotted by Hollywood filmmakers and two of them casted me as the lead in the movies. One is out- Bully High directed by Bill McAdams Jr. Until then, acting in films was a far-fetched dream that I didn’t know was a possibility for me,” she says.
Ask her which film she loved, and she says, “I used to love the song Rangeela, with Urmila! I used to copy her dance steps! In India, Amir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan films had a huge impact on me.”

Jun 13, 2026Talking about the impact of OTT on her career, she says, “I think OTT attracts me because of the content that is coming out today. I am truly excited to embody characters that provoke our thoughts and emotions within the realm of much needed attention of certain themes.”
Aneesha says that it is very important to understand that taking feedback constructively is important here. “One must be willing to listen to all feedback but at the end of the day, instinct is the best guide and it is then on our judgement what we will derive from the critics. I’m an actor for the art, not the fame; criticism cannot affect me. For me, compliments or insults don’t mean anything and I try to stay in that neutral path. I try not to be emotionally vulnerable to just anyone unless I’m getting paid to act.”
