Nivedita shares that her family has been celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi with devotion for over two decades. The tradition, observed at her in-laws’ house, is a simple and intimate affair spanning a day and a half. During this time, the family remains with Lord Ganpati, never leaving Him alone, akin to hosting a beloved guest. The celebration is filled with heartfelt rituals, aartis, and offerings of bhog, creating a joyous atmosphere. Nivedita expresses her deep affection for Lord Ganpati, whom she adores.
Bringing Ganpati into their homes is a tradition that Nivedita and her family uphold with dedication. They continue to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi both at their in-laws’ and parents’ houses. This tradition, which spans 25 years, has been passed down to the younger generation. Nivedita’s daughters share the same enthusiasm for the celebration, making it a cherished family tradition. She emphasizes that their celebration is not extravagant but intimate, with family members actively involved in all aspects, from floral arrangements to preparing food.

Nivedita also talks about visiting friends during Ganpati celebrations, particularly highlighting her visits to Sharad Malhotra and Vipul’s homes, as well as Ekta’s annual Ganpati celebration. Regarding her hopes and prayers for this year, Nivedita shares that, for her, Ganpati and her trips to Banaras have always revolved around wishing for good health and positive thoughts above all else.
