The upcoming film Haddi has already created a buzz in Bollywood with Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s mind-blowing first look as a transgender character. This landmark film not only marks an important milestone in the representation of the queer community in Indian cinema but is also backed by the debut producer duo, Sanjay Saha and Raadhika Nanda, who are determined to create an inclusive society through their production house, Anandita Studios.
Raadhika, with a degree in criminal justice and extensive work experience with leading actors and singers in India, brings a unique perspective to the table. On the other hand, Sanjay is a versatile personality with skills as a producer, composer, and businessman. Known for his composition of popular songs like “Rango ka atom bomb” with Sukhwinder Singh, Sanjay has curated and executed numerous Bollywood shows and television commercials over the years.
Haddi not only marks the duo’s foray into film production but also showcases their commitment to bringing quality and content-driven cinema to the forefront. Speaking about their approach, Sanjay emphasizes, “Creating Haddi was an honest effort to bring the world together. We recognize the challenges and discrimination faced by the LGBTQ community due to their appearance. I wanted to change that perspective and present them as an integral part of our society. Through my films, I aim to create a more inclusive society.”

Sanjay further expands on the vision for Anandita Studios, stating, “I strive to create content that deeply moves people and allows them to experience different parts of the world without leaving their cities. I want to showcase diverse cultures and provide a glimpse into life in different countries. This can only be achieved through compelling stories and good content presented through the medium of cinema.”
Echoing similar sentiments, Raadhika adds, “I want to highlight the journeys of individuals who have played an essential role in making revolutionary changes and dedicate films to those who have contributed to creating a better society. I also aim to bring back the excitement and romance of traditional Bollywood films, evoking childhood nostalgia and delighting the audience with entertaining romantic comedies.”
However, Sanjay and Raadhika understand the evolving sensibilities of today’s audience and have adapted their content accordingly. “People now seek relatable content rather than something surreal. They want stories that can be experienced and believed in. Films like Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara made viewers yearn for the experiences portrayed on screen because they felt real and achievable. I aspire to create such realistic and enjoyable films,” concludes Sanjay.
Starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the lead role and produced by Sanjay Saha and Raadhika Nanda under Anandita Studios, Haddi is set to release in late June. This film not only pushes the boundaries of representation in Indian cinema but also reflects the vision of the producer duo in their pursuit of a more inclusive and diverse society. As audiences eagerly anticipate the release, Haddi promises to deliver an impactful and heartfelt cinematic experience, further establishing Sanjay and Raadhika as significant contributors to the world of filmmaking.
