Actor Srikant Dwivedi, known for his portrayal of Lord Vishnu in the TV shows Lakshmi Narayan – Sukh Samarthya Santulan as the lead actor, and the current show Shiv Shakti – Tap Tyaag Tandav, says it is unfortunate how the New Year has begun. Starting the new year, we are witnessing a series of devastating events, including floods in Saudi Arabia, a virus outbreak in China, an earthquake in Tibet, and fires in Los Angeles. He emphasizes the need for us to be mindful of our actions toward Mother Nature.

Join Telegram Channel“Most of the disasters we see today are natural, but a significant reason behind them is how humans are living and the way our planet is being polluted. Deforestation, in particular, has led to severe consequences. These disasters are bound to happen if we don’t change our ways. I strongly believe it’s time for humans to adopt a more responsible way of living, focusing on protecting the environment,” he says.
He adds, “We must take serious steps toward afforestation, cleaning rivers, and preserving nature. In many developing countries, including India, the focus on nature and the environment isn’t as strong as it should be. When you look at countries like the U.S. or Saudi Arabia, people are at least somewhat concerned about their environment and atmosphere. But in developing nations, this concern needs to grow significantly.”
He says that there is no stopping nature when it hits back. “When nature retaliates, there’s no way to stop it. Unlike wars between two countries, where mutual reconciliation or ceasefires are possible, once nature strikes back, there’s no solution. Whatever we give to nature, we receive in return. If we treat it well, we will reap positive outcomes. But if we continue to harm it, we will only face more catastrophes. Even animals, in some ways, live more harmoniously with nature than humans. It’s our man-made activities that are damaging the environment, and as a result, we are witnessing disasters across the globe. It’s high time for every country to take serious steps toward environmental protection,” he says.

He adds, “All nations need to come together and take collective actions. For example, countries could collectively work to reduce carbon emissions from factories by setting limits for each nation. Similarly, there should be a minimum percentage of forest cover that every country must maintain. Efforts should also be made to create green belts wherever possible. These may seem like small steps, but collectively, they can make a huge impact on the environment. If every country commits to these actions, we can create a positive change for the planet and ensure a better future for generations to come.”
