National Award–winning singer Shilpa Rao delivered one of the biggest live performances of her career at Falcon Festival 2025, drawing one of her largest-ever audiences and reaffirming her unparalleled connect with listeners across the country. Marking her first visit to Umrangso, the concert unfolded against the striking Dima Hasao hills, underscoring the festival’s growing national relevance.
The response was electrifying, with locals, travellers, and campers filling the venue, chanting “Shilpa jaldi aao” and singing along in unison throughout her set. Her songs turned the performance into a shared, emotional experience, with the scale and intensity of the crowd making it one of the most powerful shows of her touring career.
Reflecting on the night, Shilpa said, “This was our first ever trip to Umrangso, and while I’ve performed in Assam many times, this place was truly special. It’s pure, it’s clean, and the scenic beauty of the Dima Hasao hills is breathtaking. Singing here was absolutely sublime — a mix of locals and people travelling from outside, some camping, all singing together. When they sang Barbaad, Besharam Rang and Bulleya with me, it felt like the entire hills were reverberating with my songs. I’m leaving a part of my heart here, and I truly hope we come back again.”
