Mastiii 4 has had a rocky start at the box office, and its second day has only confirmed the troubling trend. Early estimates indicate that the film raked in about ₹2.50 crore on Saturday—pretty much the same as its Friday earnings—bringing its two-day total to a mere ₹5 crore nett. If it doesn’t pick up over the weekend, it’s on track for a disappointing opening, likely wrapping up around ₹8 crore nett.
The adult-comedy genre used to have a strong appeal, especially back in the early 2010s when bold humor had a loyal fanbase. The franchise hit its high point with Grand Masti in 2013, which opened with over ₹12 crore on its first day and eventually soared to nearly ₹100 crore in India. But everything changed with the rise of affordable mobile internet and the easy availability of adult content, which really cut into the audience for theatrical releases like this. To make matters worse, weak scripts and repetitive jokes have only added to the decline.
The third installment already showed signs of a downturn in 2016, especially after a full film leak before its release. Now, the fourth installment seems to be following the same path—low attendance, no weekend boost, and hardly any buzz. Its performance so far suggests this could be the end of the line for the franchise unless there’s a significant change in direction.
Currently, the film’s collections in India stand at ₹2.50 crore on both Friday and Saturday, totaling ₹5 crore nett. With audiences showing little interest and no major turnaround expected on Sunday, it looks like the movie will finish its weekend on a low note.

If this trend continues, Mastiii 4 will join the ranks of adult comedies struggling to make it in today’s box office landscape—a clear reminder that nostalgia alone can’t sustain a franchise without fresh writing, a new tone, or a strong connection with the audience.
