Mumbai, July 2025 – Filmmaker and visionary creator Dushyant Kapoor is all set to take Indian cinema by storm with the official announcement of his theatrical debut project, ULKAA. This original superhero film marks the launch of India’s first independently created superhero cinematic universe the DK Superhero Universe (DKSU) – entirely conceptualized, directed, and produced by Kapoor himself under his banner, DK Films LLP.
Best known for revolutionizing the Indian digital space with homegrown superheroes, Kapoor has already achieved massive success through his web series like Mahakaal, Suitboy, and Pehla Chakravyuh Chalava. These stories, rooted in Indian mythology, emotion, and sci-fi elements, have amassed over 250 million+ digital views. Despite this digital acclaim, Dushyant Kapoor has remained an underrated figure in mainstream entertainment – a gap this cinematic milestone aims to bridge.
ULKAA introduces a new celestial superhero who holds the power of asteroids and serves as Earth’s protector in a cosmic war against vengeful gods. Set against an epic backdrop of mythology, emotion, and betrayal, the story promises a never-seen-before Indian superhero experience. The film will also debut India’s first big-screen superhero team – the Divya Guardians, featuring Ulkaa, Mahakaal, Naari, Hion, and Suitboy.
The recently released teaser has already stirred online chatter, with its haunting line – “66 million years ago, a hero was cursed… and now he is freed” – setting the tone for a dark, mythological, yet futuristic superhero narrative. The film’s first-look poster features a mysterious masked warrior with glowing eyes and a cosmic aura, bearing the bold tagline: “From the Creators of Suitboy.”

Dushyant’s journey began on YouTube, where Mahakaal became a cult hit following the viral buzz of a fan-made Shaktimaan trailer. With Suitboy, he broke digital records, earning over 150 million+ views, which led to the launch of Suitboy Comics. Pehla Chakravyuh Chalava trended #3 on Disney+ Hotstar, later topped the charts on the Vyre Network (US), and has recently been re-released on Stage App in Haryanvi and Rajasthani, trending at #4. His emotionally resonant family series Kavi Kasturi has also gone viral with over 200 million+ views on select platforms.
