Mumbai: Actress Saiee M Manjrekar is set to step into a world far removed from the present day as she gears up for an upcoming period drama set in the pre-Independence era.

Talking about the film, Saiee shared how the role has pushed her to approach acting with a completely different mindset. Opening up about the experience, Saiee said, “This project has honestly been one of the most challenging and exciting journeys for me so far. A period drama, especially one set in the pre-Independence era, demands a lot more than just learning lines and showing up on set. There is so much homework involved, reading, researching the time, understanding how people lived, spoke, carried themselves, and even how they expressed emotions back then. Everything is rooted in a certain discipline and grace which is very different from the world we live in today.”

From body language to posture, from the way you walk into a room to how you react in silence nothing can feel modern. You have to unlearn many habits and consciously build a new physical and emotional vocabulary. It’s demanding, but that’s what makes it so fulfilling. As an actor, I feel incredibly lucky to be part of a film that allows me to explore a completely different time and pushes me to grow.”
