Ruhaan Saapru: Life was easier 20 years back
Actor Ruhaan Saapru says that while we didn’t have so much technology 20 years back, people lived a healthy and simple life. He adds that now people have no time for themselves.
“20 years back, technology was not advanced but still life was easier and more peaceful. But now with so much competition, technology has become a curse and people are getting addicted to this new lifestyle. Earlier we controlled technology but now technology is controlling us. So, we have to take back control of technology and get it back into our hands,” he says.
He adds, “Have you heard of the phrase circle of life! So according to me, we are heading nowhere and just running in circles. We can only achieve our dreams when we attain self-realisation of who we are, what we want and what we can do. Only then will we stand out of the crowd.”

Jun 8, 2026He says that life should be enjoyed. “My viewpoint on this is that life is not a race. It is a beautiful journey. I don’t understand why people are running behind unwanted things, things that they don’t even need. I think the solution to this is that people must get out of the reel world and live in the real world,” he says.
However, he says that he is not a slave to technology and takes basic steps like not looking at his phone first thing in the morning. “It may not sound so cool, but I am really proud of it that I don’t follow this pattern. I am not an addict to mobile or social media. I go to bed early at night and I wake up to the alarm of course, but I only touch my mobile phone after completing my morning routine which is my workout, breakfast, and my prayers,” he says
