Rajat Bedi, son of acclaimed filmmaker-producer Narendra Bedi and grandson of renowned Urdu litterateur, screenwriter and filmmaker Rajinder Singh Bedi, is all set to begin a new chapter with Marathi cinema.
Rajinder Singh Bedi enriched Hindi cinema through his writing for acclaimed films such as Madhumati, Abhimaan, Devdas, Ek Chadar Maili Si, Anupama and Satyakam . Rajinder Singh Bedi was also honoured with the ‘Padmashri’ for his significant contribution to Indian cinema. His son, Narendra Bedi, also carved a niche for himself as a successful filmmaker, delivering popular films such as Bandhan, Jawani Diwani, Khotey Sikkay, Benaam, Rafoo Chakkar and Sanam Teri Kasam. Among his notable works were Benaam and Adalat, both of which emerged as blockbusters starring Amitabh Bachchan. Presented by Rajat Bedi, JSD Studio, in collaboration with TRIFLIX Entertainment, ‘Bandhu’ is slated to release in theatres on November 20. The film is written and directed by Nitin Sindhuvijay Supekar and produced by Pranav Desai, Juhi Desai and Kuldeep Sunil Ojha.
Rajat Bedi began his career as a model and won the Gladrags Manhunt competition in 1994. He made his acting debut with 2001: Do Hazaar Ek and gained widespread recognition for his role in Koi... Mil Gaya. He went on to feature in several Hindi films including Jodi No. 1, The Hero: Love Story of a Spy, Raqt, Aksar and Partner. Alongside Hindi cinema, Bedi has also worked in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Punjabi films.
