Manish Tiwary ‘s Chidiakhana grows with audiences in its second week

Manish Tiwary 's Chidiakhana that breathed life into every underdog wanting to tell his take, has entered its second successful week nationally. There are positive reports and strong audience response especially from centers like Mumbai, Delhi, Patna and Muzaffarpur. At a time when it is difficult for even bigger films to sustain through the week in theatres, this films success and entry into the second week has energized the film’s team.

We spoke to the director Manish Tiwary on the film’s entry into its second week, and asked him how difficult, or easy, the process was. “Although we were reasonably confident that the audience, especially the younger crowd and footballers, would like the film, our challenge was to create awareness about our film”, the director said candidly. “With a limited PR budget a film like ours depends a lot on word-of-mouth, which can sometimes be a slow process. But luckily for us, our audience responded positively and has come out in strong support. Constant support from our producer, NFDC, has also kept our morale high through this very busy week. This satisfied audience, is what has helped us into this second week, and we hope this support continues!”

The film industry is hoping to gradually bring its audience back to theatres like before, and a good response to any film must be a welcome news for the entire fraternity. The actor and MP Ravi Kishan has voiced his support for entertainment tax-free status for Chidiakhana, that NFDC has supported. The film is evidently being lapped up by school and college going kids, and getting an entertainment tax booster will be a shot in the arm, enabling our younger generation to have easier access to the film, says Manish Tiwary.
