Mumbai: The first look of Akshaye Khanna as the demon Guru Shukracharya in the upcoming mythological action-drama Mahakali raised the anticipation for the film. Now, another addition to the Mahakali kingdom has come to light with actor Jitin Gulati joining the extraordinary cast of the film.
For Jitin, the opportunity to play such a powerful and a pivotal character in the film is the result of manifestation. “As it is said, when you really want something, the universe conspires to give it to you. That's what happened to me with Mahakali,” he says.
It was a fortunate turn of events that led Jitin to Mahakali. He shares, “I was really chasing Prasanth Varma after watching Hanu-Man. I really wanted to work with him and as it so happened, a friend of mine was already working with him on another project. I was also doing another Telugu film and many people from that film were brought onboard Mahakali. These people referred me and showed my showreel to Prasanth and director Puja Kolluru, and got my meeting done with them. I am grateful to all those people who made this film possible for me.”

Discussing his character, Jitin shares, “What really got me excited for the role was the director, Puja’s vision for it - she spoke so passionately about its possibilities and the novelty with which she wanted to present this character. It’s a very demanding character in every aspect and I have had great support from very department of the film. I am sure this film will be a benchmark in this genre. Prasanth, Puja and PVCU will be a force to reckon with when it comes to this genre. I am very confident of that.” Mahakali also stars Rohit Saraf and Bhoomi Shetty.
