Sadhwi Majumdar, who plays the role of Sreemoyi in the new show Sapno Ki Chhalaang, recently shared her thoughts on her character and the show. She stated that she loves playing her character and relates a lot to her.

Sreemoyi is a fun, witty, and outgoing girl who stands up for what she believes in and is not afraid to speak her mind. She loves her clothes and accessories and is big on aesthetics and vibes, for things and for people.
Majumdar shared that she can find a lot of Sreemoyi in herself as she gets deeper into the character. She is a 25-year-old staying in a rented house in Mumbai with other roommates, just like her character. She is a small-town girl from a very ordinary middle-class family with big aspirations who came to Mumbai six years ago. She aspires to use her craft to bring attention to issues that need to be talked about and make a difference.

Apr 2, 2026When asked about how she prepared for her role, Majumdar said that she had to strip away her selective outgoing and social life in order to get into the skin of Sreemoyee. She started being more outgoing on set in general and in her personal life. She has also been working on her Hindi and just being proud and comfortable with who she is and where she comes from.
Majumdar also spoke about working with Nilanjana Purkayasstha and Herumb Khot, the producers of the show. She said that from the very first meeting she had with Nilanjana, she knew she loved that woman. She described her as classy, funny, and knowledgeable. She met Herumb on set and found him to be the sweetest. Their vision and their "let's think outside the box" attitude is inspiring, she added. Majumdar also gave credit to their director, Arif, without whom she would have never been able to play Sreemoyi the way she is now.
The show has garnered a lot of attention since its premiere, with its relatable storyline and characters. It showcases the struggles of three roommates, Radhika, Sreemoyi, and Preeti, as they navigate their dreams and aspirations while living together in Mumbai.
