Vikramm Bhambri recalls Ranveer’s warm gesture on his first day on Dhurandhar

Mumbai: Actor Vikramm Bhambri made his Bollywood debut with Aditya Dhar's duology Dhurandhar. He is seen in the second installment of the franchise and revealed that though he was quite nervous on the first day of the shoot, Ranveer Singh, who is seen in the lead role in the movie, made him quite comfortable.

He said, "It was overwhelming and a bit nerve-wracking. I had so many thoughts and questions running through my mind. But everything changed the moment Ranveer Singh addressed me as 'Vikramm sir. "I was blown away by that gesture, and from that point on, he became ‘Ranveer bhai’ for me."

He speaks highly of Ranveer and calls him incredibly inspiring. He said, "He’s like a best buddy to all of us, especially the gang members. He’s very meticulous about his craft and also about building camaraderie. Full of energy, always cheerful, and motivating everyone around him. He’s a true gentleman and very humble."

He believes Dhurandhar is a stepping stone to his Bollywood career. He said, "Like any newcomer, I went through the audition process. I auditioned in May 2024 and came onboard in October 2024. It was a big moment for me because this project marked my entry into Hindi cinema."

"Every moment on set is etched in my memory. Standing alongside some of the biggest stalwarts of Bollywood in my very first film was overwhelming but also extremely fulfilling," he added.

Vikramm plays Shakeel Commando, one of the henchmen in Rehman Dakait’s (played by Akshaye Khanna) gang. Giving more details to his character, he said, "He’s a tall, rugged ‘modern nomad’ kind of character who is mostly silent, but his actions speak louder than words. In part one, characters like Donga, Siyahi, and Baba Ladla die, so the remaining gang members, including Shakeel, are seen in part two."

Sharing a memorable moment from the shoot, he said, "There’s a funny one from our Leh schedule. A few of us—Danish (Uzair), Rajat (Mukka), Naveen (Donga), and I—planned to take Diamox tablets before flying to help with high-altitude acclimatization. I was confident I’d manage without it because I work out regularly and have good cardio. Ironically, when we reached Leh, my SpO2 dropped below 80 on the second day, and I had to be put on oxygen cylinders, while Rajat, whom I was worried about, was absolutely fine and busy recording me!"

Looking back, he mentioned that Dhurandhar has been an unforgettable journey. He said, "It was full of learning, excitement, and growth. From my debut to working with amazing co-actors like Ranveer Bhai, every moment has been special and will always stay close to my heart."

"The biggest lesson I learned is humility and the importance of building bonds with your team. His ability to stay grounded despite his success is something I will always carry with me throughout my career," Vikramm ended
